It may seem paradoxical that a body of work spanning several decades can be dictated by the same constant desires, can be dependent on the same obsession, can be driven by a few tiny questions. It seems that I’m always in the same project and that I’m nourished by the same concerns. What fascinates me are the often fine, subtle and unexpected variations that time alone reveals at the heart of particular phenomena. Also, I’m interested in the specifics of certain behaviours such as the seemingly automatic or arbitrary repetitions of intentions or gestures, words or actions which are based on understanding that has been attained by this repeated practice.
